Grok tracking questions
Can I block Grok in robots.txt?
Not by name. As of October 2026 xAI documents no crawler user agent or robots.txt token, so there's no line to add.
Why does Grok show zero citations here?
In the citation index we use, none of the four CRMs in this example (Attio, HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive) was cited in an indexed Grok answer on 14 Oct 2026, though all four are cited in every other engine. That's a finding for this example, not a rule for your site.
Why do the answers change between runs?
AI assistants don't give the same answer twice, even to the same question. One run is a snapshot, so the tracker reruns every prompt and reports how often you're named across runs, not whether you were named once.
Which prompts should I track?
Start with the questions a buyer asks before they know your name: "best X", "X alternatives", "how do I do Y". Unbranded prompts show whether you're found; branded ones show how you're described.
Can I track my competitors?
Yes. Add any domain and it gets the same numbers as yours: how often it's named, where it comes in, and which of its pages are cited.
Does a citation mean someone visited my site?
No. A citation is a link in the answer; a visit happens when someone clicks it. The tracker shows the citations, and AI traffic analytics shows the visits each assistant actually sends you.
